I witnessrep steepen five and seven bare knuckle punches that were well landed due to the fact that the suspect was already prone. Police realized that an officer was loosing his head and quickly surrounded the scene. I was looking into a funnel of cops, being perhaps the only eye witness that could see the fist. Unsure of the fist owner, I can only report that the guy in the John Deere hat was on the ground and therefore capable of doing this. Was he the only one on the ground? I can’t say for sure, but I believe a uniformed officer may have grabbed the arrestee first. By this time many people were there and can testify that about a half cup of blood was on the pavement, with a clot-like dark area. They tried to cover this also, but we’re much more successful at covering the victims face with a gray sweatshirt. We chanted, “uncover his face” as we were filmed by police with video cameras.
